Air purification for greenhouses and grow rooms

Warm, humid growing spaces are ideal for mold, bacteria and yeast. RGF's Element Air line treats the air throughout the room, around the clock, to protect crops and control odor.

Built for the air plants grow in

Greenhouses and indoor grows run warm and wet, with plants packed close together. Mold spores, bacteria and yeast spread through that air fast, and one outbreak can cost a crop. Filters only catch what passes through them.

Element Air works differently. Inside each unit, high-intensity UV light hits a catalyst and produces oxidizers that move out into the room and break down airborne microbes and odor compounds where they are. RGF developed the line for grow facilities, and Colorado has approved 19 Element Air products for sale.

Designed to reduce

  • Airborne mold spores
  • Bacteria and yeast
  • Odors and VOCs at the source
  • Ethylene, the gas that speeds ripening and wilting
  • Mold and bacteria growth on AC coils

Where we install

Spaces that benefit most

Greenhouses

Commercial greenhouses and nurseries

Glass, poly and hoop houses where humidity stays high and air barely moves at night.

Indoor

Cultivation and grow rooms

Licensed cannabis grows, hydroponic and vertical farms, and other sealed growing rooms.

Post-harvest

Drying, curing and harvest rooms

Where mold risk peaks and smell is strongest, so air treatment pays off most.

Processing

Processing, trim and storage

Packing and storage rooms where ethylene and odors build up around finished product.

Equipment

The Element Air line

We match units to each room's size, airflow and existing equipment.

SystemBest forKey details
Element Air TowerLarge greenhouses, cultivation and harvest roomsFreestanding or wall-mount. 700 CFM, treats up to 12,000 cu ft, 110 V. Needs a room of at least 12,000 cu ft.
Element Air In-DuctRooms with ducted HVACMounts in supply duct, 24 VAC. Three probe sizes (5", 9", 14"). High Output and Plus versions for bigger systems.
Element Air Wall MountSmaller rooms, no ductworkMounts on the wall and runs on its own.
Element Air Mini SplitRooms cooled by ductless mini-splitsFits the mini-split systems we already install.

Testing · as published by RGF

The technology, tested

Element Air uses the same REME and PHI-Cell advanced oxidation that RGF has tested with outside labs. In a home-scale test by California Microbiology Center, RGF's technology reduced mold, yeast and bacteria. In a separate HVAC test, a PHI cell brought ethylene down from 25 ppm to 3.6 ppm in 12 hours.

Controlled tests. Results in a working grow will vary with room size, airflow and contamination load. See all test results or rgf.com/test-results.

How it works

From walkthrough to running system

  1. Site walkthrough

We measure each room, look at your HVAC, dehumidification and airflow, and note problem areas.

  2. System plan

A written plan placing the right units in each room, with ozone monitoring where needed.

  3. Install

Scheduled around your grow cycle, so plants and workflow are disrupted as little as possible.

  4. Cell and lamp service

We track replacement schedules and swap cells and lamps so protection never lapses.

Questions

Grow room questions

What does Element Air do in a grow room?

Element Air units use RGF's REME and PHI-Cell technology: high-intensity UV light on a catalyst creates oxidizers that circulate through the room and reduce airborne mold, bacteria, yeast and odors, rather than only treating the air that passes through a filter.

Can it run while plants and people are in the room?

Most models run continuously. RGF notes the Element Air Tower can produce high ozone levels depending on contaminant load, so it must go in a room of at least 12,000 cubic feet and we recommend an ozone monitor. We match each unit to the room during the site visit.

Does it work with my existing HVAC or dehumidifiers?

Yes. In-duct units mount in your supply ductwork, and mini-split and package-unit versions fit those systems. Standalone towers and wall units need no ductwork, which suits hoop houses and rooms without central air.

Can I buy these for a California facility?

Several Element Air models do not meet California air cleaner regulations and cannot ship there. Our installs are in Maine, where that rule does not apply.
